Write to Ollie
Hi there. I'm Ollie. I write the TCM Way blog. And β this might surprise you β I actually read every single email that comes in.
Not an auto-reply. Not a canned response. Me. The owl on the perch with the ginger tea. Really.
You can write to me about:
- A TCM topic you're curious about and want me to explore
- Your own experience with Chinese medicine β good, bad, or confusing
- A question the blog made you think about
- Something in your daily life you suspect TCM might have an answer for
- Or just to say hi. (Ollie likes those too.)
No, I won't give you medical advice. (See the Disclaimer. I'm an owl with opinions, not a licensed physician.) But I will listen. I'll think about what you're describing. I might point you toward something I've written or suggest a direction to explore. And sometimes, just knowing someone heard you is already half the medicine.
Why Email?
Because I believe the best conversations happen one-on-one. Comments sections can feel like shouting into a crowd. An email feels like two people sitting down with a cup of tea. TCM is about depth, patience, and paying attention β and so is a good email exchange.
Also, let's be honest: I'm a small blog. I don't have a comments section. When you write to me, you're not just leaving feedback β you're helping me understand what you want to know. That shapes what I write next.

I usually reply within 2β3 days. If you don't hear back, check your spam folder β Outlook and I are still getting acquainted.
What Happens After You Hit Send
- Your email lands in my inbox. (It's a real inbox. I log in with a password and everything.)
- I read it. Usually with ginger tea. Sometimes at midnight β I am an owl, after all.
- I reply. As myself. Not a bot. Not a template. A real owl who cares about what you said.
- If you gave me a great idea, it might become a future post β always anonymized, never quoted without permission.
Quick FAQ
- Can I ask for health advice?
- I can share TCM philosophy and general principles. I can't diagnose or prescribe β that's for your doctor or a licensed TCM practitioner. I'll always be upfront about the boundary.
- Will you publish my email?
- Never. Your email is private between you and me. If you share a story that I think would help other readers, I'll ask your permission before referencing it (anonymously).
- Do you reply in languages other than English?
- English is best, but I can muddle through Chinese (δΈζε―δ»₯ε,δΈθΏθ±ζεε€ζ΄ζ΅η
). For now, TCM Way is an English-first project.
- How long does a reply take?
- Usually 2β3 days. Sometimes faster. If you ask something really interesting, I might take longer β because I'll be researching before I answer.
π« Ollie's Ginger Tea (Because You Made It This Far)
This is the tea I'm probably drinking while reading your email. You should try it:
- πΏ 3 thin slices of fresh ginger (skin on, washed)
- π― 1 teaspoon of honey (or skip it β ginger's already friendly)
- π Optional: a single slice of lemon
- π« Steep in hot water for 5β8 minutes. Not boiling β you want warmth, not scalding.
- π¦ Best enjoyed while reading TCM Way. (Coincidence? Maybe not.)
In TCM, ginger warms the middle β the Spleen and Stomach. A warm center means better digestion, clearer thinking, and β Ollie's favorite β less grumpiness.
